Frequently Asked Questions
What is RSS?
RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication (among other things), provides you with a new way of keeping on top of online news in addition to visiting the site. RSS allows you to view constantly updated headlines from web sites, in addition to headlines from other news publications in one place. Each site provides feeds of headlines on different topics. You can choose which feeds you would like to display.
How do I use RSS?
To use RSS, you will need a special RSS news reader or aggregator that will allow you to collect and display RSS feeds. RSS news readers allow you to view the service you select in one place and, by automatically retrieving updates, stay current with new content soon after it is published. There are many readers available and most are free. Below are some resources for readers. You may also visit your favorite search engine and look up "RSS reader aggregator."
- Feed Demon
- FeedReader
- My Yahoo! - Free, web-based RSS reader.
- NewsGator - Web-based and Microsoft Outlook reader.
- NewzCrawler
