Detroit Music Awards Announces New Category for 2005, "Outstanding Music Video"

Partnership with Detroit Film Center Honors Local Cinematic Achievement

Join us at 8pm FRIDAY, MARCH 25th, 2005, for the public PREMIERE of the 2005 Nominees for Outstanding Video/Limited Budget at the Detroit Film Center, a storefront space at 1227 Washington Blvd. Downtown Detroit in the Book Building.

No other development in the music industry in the last 30 years has had more influence on the world than the music video. For good or for bad, the music video has a pivotal role in mainstream culture in the way musical acts promote themselves and connect with audiences. By comparison, no single cinematic form has developed as quickly as the music video, which is, at it's best, a breeding ground for cinematic innovation.

The DFC and DMA are proud to honor the artistic achievement and vision of area bands, producers, directors, editors and production personnel working in the cinema arts in the Motor City and hope this award continues to foster innovative development in this important cinematic form.

Friday, March 25th 8pm (doors open at 6pm) $5 admission, $3 DFC/DMA Members/Students.
